Brenda Morrison - Still Life Interiors

Brenda Morrison enjoys painting and this is apparent in her strong, joyfully colorful oils on canvas. Her paintings range from small to very large and her still life paintings can be either indoors or out. Besides bouquets of flowers she often includes china and pottery. Sometimes a window lets a little of the outside in and occasionally it will be a window with a curtain blowing in the breeze with sunlight streaming through. Wicker is also a favorite of hers and her paintings have a way of inviting you into them. They make a tremendous impact due to their strength and the way she uses her colors. She is an extremely popular artist, perhaps due to the fact that her paintings emanate a sense of well-being . Her posters and cards have been sold throughout the U.S and overseas. It would not be uncommon to see these in up-beat restaurants or top line motels.

She has had numerous one-woman shows throughout the U.S. since 1976 as well as numerous group shows. Her work is being shown in Arizona, California, Florida, Massachusetts, Oregon, Pennsylvania and England. She has exhibited for over twenty years in Carmel and sold to collectors from all over the world including many celebrities. She is also a past president of the Carmel Art Association.

She won a scholarship to Bournemouth College of Art in England and went on to the London School of Art. After coming to the U.S. and settling in Carmel, Ca. She attended the Monterey Peninsular College and continued her studies privately with Keith Lindberg and Nancy Johnson.
