The clear, vivid color Nell Melcher's colorful works have endeared her to countless viewers in over 50 galleries and 40 one-person shows. In the past few years, she has added several new styles and techniques to her repertoire - a controlled detailed style, a spontaneous "brushy" technique and a soft ethereal style which she uses in her painting, greeting cards and posters. Her still life, flower and landscape paintings reflect the brilliant, transparent and luminous quality of the watercolor medium. Nell Melcher's earlier work as a lithographer and designer always left room for painting; she now devotes herself full-time to painting and teaching. Nell Melcher received the 1979 Artist of the year Award from Kenwood Vineyards for her design of their artist wine label and poster.
